Xinjie Yang, born in 1998. Chinese young conductor. 

As a young conductor, Xinjie has a very secure technique. Her work ethic is excellent and her preparation highly thorough. Her greatest asset is her charming manner with the musicians under her command, and having the rare ability of making people want to play for her.

 She is the conductor of  Birmingham Contemporary Music Group NEXT programme 2023-2024.

Xinjie plays Piano and Erhu (Chinese traditional instrument). She was admitted to the China Conservatory of Music Conducting Department in 2016 with first overall ranking.

 

From 2016-2021, She has collaborated with many orchestras in China including: China Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Academia China, Tianjin Symphony Orchestra and many contemporary works with chamber ensembles. 

 

Since arriving in the UK she has conducted a wide range of RNCM orchestras and ensembles, the Manchester Camerata, the New Sinfonia, the Northern Ballet Sinfonia, Liverpool Mozart Orchestra, and Psappha, she made her debut with RNCM New Ensemble in London Wigmore Hall.

 

Been assistant conductor in programmes of BBC Philhamonic and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra to conductors as John Storgårds, Domingo Hindoyan, Omer Meir Wellber, Sir Mark Elder, Elena Schwartz, Clemens Schutz, Gemma New.


She entered 2023 BBCA flagship Conducting Competition Semi-final.


She was the music director and conductor of Settle orchestra 2022-2023.
